네덜란드 최남단 팔켄뷔르흐의 한 마을이 16일(현지시간) 100년 만의 기록적 폭우로 물에 잠겨 있다. 독일, 벨기에, 네덜란드 등 서유럽에 내린 이번 폭우와 홍수로 120여 명이 숨졌으며, 통신두절로 연락이 되지 않거나 실종된 사람도 1천300여 명에 달해 사상자는 더 늘어날 우려가 높다. 팔켄뷔르흐 AFP 연합뉴스
